A shared lounge faces the lake. It has sofas and a TV. The area is often quiet, but dirt and crumbs collect on furniture and behind cushions. You can hang out there or in the garden. The garden is overgrown.

The hostel is a 5-10 minute walk to downtown Queenstown. It is less than 1 km from the Skyline Gondola. It is 8 km from the airport. Near the Fear Factory and Queenstown District Council. Street parking is free but hard to find. Bus stops are nearby.

Staff can be kind and helpful. Some guests at the desk are absent. Check-in can be done without staff after hours. The building feels run down with no key to rooms. You can sign a liability waiver because lockers are not in the room. The common areas are not cleaned deeply.
